Job Description

RP Pro Services is seeking a detailed-oriented

Special Assistant for a federal agency in DC. In this role you’ll provide high-level technical support to the Bureau and assist the Front Office's Director with daily tasks;drafting memos and other written communications, organizing and coordinating both internal and external meetings, supporting the Bureau’s Directors, as well asother activities.

It is a 3 months contract and 100% remote

Your Responsibilities:

  • You’ll perform advance research on topics relating to existing or planned policies and other issues relating to PPL’s portfolio of responsibilities.
  • You’ll perform outreach and communication with internal and external stakeholders on substantive matters both orally and in writing.
  • You’ll draft policy papers, how-to and other guidance documents, reports, summaries and other written documents.
  • You’ll compile and review information on potential problems and issues; prepare oral and written reports that address the problems.
  • You’ll help with the advance planning, scheduling, and logistical coordination for the manager’s domestic and international events and travel. Serves as the advance lead for the manager’s DC- based speaking events, and manages flights, ground transportation, and hotel booking for the activity. Handles all aspects of travel preparation (country clearance, travel authorization, trip planning and closeout).
  • You’ll work with senior managers, and other relevant positions to develop strategic travel schedules, schedule trip calls, and with bureau staff to define briefing needs and trip deliverables.
  • You’ll prepare or coordinate preparation of a wide range of events, trips, reports, briefings, presentations, memos, publications.
  • You’ll write speeches, design and coordinate events, create and execute strategies to maximize office engagement opportunities.

  • You’ll coordinate work products and deliverables with the Agency’s Missions, regional bureaus, and independent offices, as well as with interagency partners and external partners.

Qualifications

Your Required Qualification:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Current DOD Secret Clearance required.
  • Master’s degree in relevant field with 5 years of work experience or bachelor’s degree with 10 years of work experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail and organization skills required.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential information is essential.
  • Knowledge of the organization and operation of large size entities working in international development or foreign affairs.

Preferred Qualification:

  • International relations background.
