EKG Technician Fulltime

Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms.Responsibilities:Positions and connects leads from electrocardiograph machine to electrodes on specified body areas.
Reviews patients record and instructs patients prior to procedures.
Monitors patient during procedures and reports any abnormal findings.
Identifies and corrects for wandering, interference, and artifacts.
Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
Maintains EKG equipment and supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program preferred.
Certifications:None required.
Complexity of Work:Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Work Experience:Minimum of six months experience related to direct patient care or customer service preferably in a hospital setting required.
Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program may offset experience requirement.
Physical Requirements:Physical strength to assist patients into position for testing.
Physical strength to transport equipment to various locations throughout the Cleveland Clinic facility.
Extensive walking and standing.
Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
