Reporting directly to the HR Analyst, this position contributes to the success of Housing Hope by providing benefits and leave administration, ensuring adherence to all compliance standards, and providing exceptional HR support to the Housing Hope employees. The position requires a solid understanding of benefits and leave administration and compliance, with a high degree of attention to detail. These responsibilities comprise approximately 80-90% of the responsibilities and requires exceptional attention to detail, along with a high level of customer service and a compassionate and professional demeanor.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Administers employee benefit programs including 403(b) plan and respond to employee questions regarding benefits,

2. Follow HR procedures, point employees to Director or HR Analyst for any HR related issues.

3. Complies with the provisions of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA, filing reports with state and federal agencies.

4. Assist in developing the annual benefit renewal and open enrollment process. Provide orientation to new hires and works with a team on employee onboarding and transitions.

5. Ensures up-to-date and accurate benefits enrollment information and timely reporting.

6. Audit data entries of Data Specialist II and HR/payroll related items.

7. Manage and track all leaves of absence including reasonable accommodation requests and Worker’s Compensation/Labor and Industry claims.

8. Reconcile payments with plan administrators.

9. Partner with HR/Payroll with annual audits including a 403(b) audit.

10. Processes EAP requests

11. Assists the HR Team with day-to-day operational tasks.

12. Administers and manages COBRA benefits.

13. Maintain OSHA 300 log and reporting, filing Assists with Filing annual compliance reports; EEO-1 and 5500.

14. Assists with Open Enrollment processes

15. Implements any changes to annual insurance renewals at open enrollment

16. Performs background checks for new hires.

17. Processes EAP requests.

Non-Essential Job Duties:

1. Backups the front desk and Data Specialist II when needed

2. Assist as needed with coordination and mail processing and order supplies, deliver packages to post office

3. Assist as needed with Inter-office courier run between Housing Hope and HopeWorks.

4. Do routine cleanup as needed.

5. Assist as needed for backup at THCDC.

6. Participate in committees as directed or requested (Safety, FunHub).

7. Represent Housing Hope at assigned functions.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years HR Generalist experience with benefits and leave administration, compliance and subsequent reporting to appropriate state and federal agencies.

PHR certification preferred

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Ability to use sound judgment, take initiative, and suggest recommendations for problem resolution.

Able to work collaboratively and productively as part of a flexible team.

Exceptional organization skills.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Computer proficiency with MS Office suite; particularly strong Excel skills; experience with HRIS highly desired

Preferences:

Experience with FLSA, Washington State labor laws, ESD and WSDOL.

Experience with HRIS.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to work in a general office environment as well as outdoor environment. Possible exposure to weather—heat, wet, cold, wind, and noise.
