Job DescriptionJoin the Clean Energy RevolutionBecome a Senior Operations Supervisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will lead a group comprised of Field Supervisors, General Foreman, Production Specialists, and craft employees who are engaged in the daily activities of constructing, maintaining, and restoring SCE’s electrical distribution system.As a Senior Operations Supervisor , your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!Drives cost efficiency through management of overtime, planned outages, and crew size by making final decision for all crew work assignments in the district based upon input from the Performance and Resource Supervisor and Field Supervisors.

Defines work unit makeup, guides assignments, and schedules emergent work and storm response.

Supervises/measures unit performance for optimal throughput, evaluating and implementing strategies to control costs, improve performance, and increase customer satisfaction. Resolves scheduling/crew conflicts between work units.

Oversight of compliance with all policies and procedures, including DOC processes for Switching Programs, No test Orders, and Customer Outage Communication Optimization.

Conducts and leads all safety investigations, Weekly Incident Conference Call (WICC) reviews, close calls, safety team participation, and safety stand-downs.

Represents the company in labor disputes and interprets the union contract in a fair and consistent manner, including the handling of all labor relations and grievance processes as needed.

Establishing, developing, and executing business objectives and plans.

Maintaining schedules, records, and reports and allocating resources to meet project requirements.

Establishing and maintaining high standards of excellence, communicating frequently and openly, engaging others in the solution of problems.

Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.

QualificationsThe essentialsFour or more years combined experience performing and/or supervising activities related to the design, construction and maintenance, and/or scheduling activities associated with the electric system.

The preferredPrevious experience as a Performance Resource Supervisor, Planning Manager, or Field Supervisor.

Experience with underground and overhead construction, maintenance and operation of the electrical system and associated regulatory requirements, including environmental regulations, safety policies and procedures, and hazardous waste management.

Experience leading all aspects of or executing medium to large construction projects.

Knowledge and experience with GO 95, 128 and Accident Prevention Manual safety rules.

Application of the IBEW collective bargaining agreement and handling labor relations issues.

Bachelor’s degree.

You should know …Work Mode: This position’s work mode is on-site . The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

This position will work nights, weekends, holidays for up to 20% of the time on an as needed basis.
