The candidate will:Responsibilities

Serve as the Event Branch Manager for the Missile Defense Event Engineering Support (MDEES) Team.

Work with the Team Deputy and will be responsible for the overall management of an event branch and its people, processes, and products.

Help lead the engineering life-cycle support effort for all events within a branch ensuring MDA Chief Information Officer (CIO) services and supported MDA Directors’ Enclaves/ Lab services are rendered, protected, and ready to support the execution of all Missile Defense Systems (MDS) events, including Flight tests, Ground tests, War-games & exercises, and real-world events.

Assist MDEES leadership to transition the team into the desired future state.

Lead managers, architects/engineers (with technical capacity across enterprise spectrum), Cyber Security professionals, and others throughout an event engineering life-cycle ensuring accuracy of work products and service offerings are ready to support the execution of MDS events

Apply their event knowledge with proficiency in relevant engineering principles and practices, implementing solutions to difficult problems.

Demonstrate event concepts knowledge as evidenced by product or process improvements, using engineering- and scientifically-proven tools to integrate requirements and solve technical problems.

Participate in high-level test engineering team activities and contributing to the technical planning process while providing technical guidance.

Serve as the Primary Interface and Customer Relations Management for the test community.

Ensure event products and services are ready and properly transitioned to operation centers and execution teams during event execution phase.

This position will be filled at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO.Qualifications

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 16 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 14 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 10 years of general experience.

Must have at least 8 years of directly-related experience

Must have at least 5 years of experience in a management or leadership role

Must have demonstrated leadership skills, proven ability to strategize for organic internal growth, and the ability to identify, attract, hire, and retain key staff;

Must have working knowledge with various DoD communication systems, IT Service Management/Delivery (ITSM/ITSD), System Lifecycle Methodologies, and Cyber Security protocols;

Working knowledge of the MDA, MDS, and event management, support and execution;

Experience leading engineering/technical teams and interfacing with matrixed-managed organizations

Must have an active Top Secret security clearance.

Desired Requirements:

Extensive working knowledge of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and MDA engineering principles;

Testing of complex weapons systems, especially those related to MDA test programs;

Experience with best-practice business practices/ITIL, managing large/small organizations, leading engineering/technical teams, interfacing with matrixed-managed organizations, and managing organizational risk;

Knowledge of or experience with overseeing mission critical continuous operations and operations/command and control centers;

Experience with project management and engineering life cycle management.
