EXPERIENCED MOLD MAKER ASAP NEEDED (New Orleans)

THIS AD IS FOR AN IMMEDIATE CONTRACT MOLD MAKER AND IF INTERESTED

CONTINUING PART-TIME OR FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH FLEXIBLE HOURS IN OUR UPTOWN WAREHOUSE.

IN IMMEDIATE NEED OF AN EXPERIENCED MOLD MAKER for The French Casting Company / French Fountains, Inc. to make molds for a commissioned project that requires a custom quadra foil pond made with coping pieces. Artist/ mold maker must be able to work from non-existing forms for the immediate project we need molds made. Mold maker must have talents are skills to create large objects with simple lines to create pond coping pieces for the immediate project in a medium that can be used from which to make the mold: either clay, styrofoam or other methods of choice to sculpt the object that a mold will be made from. This is a contract position for this one project ; however, if mold maker is interested in longer part or possibly full-time employment, there is a need for several other existing fountain blocks, pedestals and statuary from which molds are needed to be replaced and remade. Thus, this offering is for an immediate contract job to make pond coping pieces with a the option of a continuous part-time or full-time job to make molds from existing inventory.

When responding, please list experience with making molds, include some pictures and describe range of methods or preferred methods for making molds that will be used for numerous pours. Currently our molds are made of thick rubber with fiberglass casing. If you have a new or improved method of making molds, please describe this process and your preference for this over the rubber and fiberglass method. Also indicate on response letter what time you have available now to dedicate to this first project ( molds made for 8 foot quatrefoil ponds) and if you are available for future part-time or full time work.

Please list any other skills that you may have including iron work, welding, construction, carpentry, logistics, computer design work in Photo Shop or illustrator, fine arts, photography, product development, manufacturing, Concret work, fountain installation experience, computer proficiency and programs skilled with, film work, social media, and any other accomplishments or talents you think would add to the prospects of full-time employment in this highly creative industry.

Preferably, we would like someone who is willing to work in our uptownNew Orleans Riverbend warehouse on river road, however, if you have your own studio and are available now to take on this project and prefer to work their, indicate this information too.

This position is not for someone who has just had experience in making small scale molds but for someone who possibly has worked in the film industry making large scale objects for sets. Sculptures who do mold making are a plus if for our future projects as frequently we have requests for original work.
