Find your future with us.Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for a System Requirements & Verification Engineer (Level 2, 3, or 4) to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) located in Seal Beach, CA; with options to work from El Segundo, CA; or Aurora, CO, to support development of new first-of-kind space vehicles and missions. ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning various technology domains, and is an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world's first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane, which is currently performing its sixth and most ambitious flight yet.As a member of our Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) - Requirements & Verification team, you will join a diverse team of experts in system architecture, requirement development, system verification/validation, system integration, and configuration & data management. You will be expected to work in one or more of these disciplines, leading coordination across all internal and external stakeholders to drive your assigned programs' development from early system definition through system sell-off/acceptance. You will serve as a core point of contact for customers and will work directly with subject matter experts across the business to quickly iterate and converge on achievable solutions that meet our customers' needs. Our development timelines are aggressive and you will be asked to develop solutions to previously unsolved problems.In this role, you will work in multidisciplinary teams to bring system requirements & verification to fruition in support of our customers' mission objectives. You will work both as an individual contributor and as a team lead, depending on your selected role. An ideal candidate has a strong technical background across various spacecraft subsystems, space system development (space and ground segments), requirements development and interface management, and verification planning & requirement sell-off. You will need to be able to dive into broad, minimally-defined design spaces and effectively lead integrated efforts.Position Responsibilities:

  • Support technology integration and development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions
  • Develop and present review packages to internal and external senior leadership
  • Work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, demanding atmosphere
  • Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to develop and manage system requirements
  • Define and control system internal and external interfaces
  • Support development of system architecture to ensure alignment of requirements, interfaces, Concept of Operations (ConOps), and design
  • Manage the system baseline using systems engineering tools/processes
  • Lead system verification/validation planning and requirement sell-off
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program. Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience with systems engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Space system development experience
  • Requirements development experience
  • Verification planning and requirement sell-off experience
  • Systems engineering tools experience (DOORS, Cameo, etc.)
