Join our Avionics team today.This position is for a Lead Manufacturing Engineering technician who is under minimal supervision. Performs complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Confers with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results. Assists in orienting, training, and assigning work of technical/businesssupport employeesPrimary Responsibilities:Applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to production and product specifications across applicable operating conditions.Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.Plans and executes experiments and gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes to support plant operations.Analyzes, maintains, compiles and formats data.Produces drawings, reports and engineering documentation including work instructions for operations, equipment drawings, and equipment specifications.Performs troubleshooting and continuous improvement involving the testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, equipment, and systems.Also maintains and coordinates process layouts, process controls to ensure equipment is performing to design specifications.QualificationsUnder minimal supervision, Applies advanced skills, adapts new procedures, techniques, tools, etc.Relies on moderate to extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.Solves complex problems.Leads in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of technical/business support employees.Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, CAD (Solidworks, DraftSight, AutoCad, or relevant CAD software).Familiarity with PCs and network architecture.Extensive knowledge of machine controls, hydraulics and pneumatics.Basic Qualifications:An AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.In the absence of a AA/AS degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required.US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required.At Collins, the paths we pave together lead to limitless possibility.
