Crew Supervisor for the Orange County Conservation Corps
Directly supervises a crew of up to 12 corpsmembers (CMs) on assigned field projects. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include CM training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; motivating, rewarding, and disciplining CMs; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of hand and power tool usage and maintenance
Willingness to perform manual labor alongside CMs
Willingness to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions
Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
Able to pass a criminal background check
Ability to obtain Class B driver's license within 120 days of employment
Valid CA driver's license with ability to be placed on OCCC vehicle insurance
Ability to organize, prioritize, perform and/or delegate and complete multiple tasks to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good organizational skills
Meet physical demands of job
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of and/or experience working with at-risk population
Interest and ability to set a positive example for young people
Landscape or construction knowledge
QAL or QAC State Licensed
Must be available to work Monday thru Friday 6:30am-4:30pm.
