The Board of Child Care is looking for a Teacher Assistant.

This position would be an on call/part time position. You will communicate to us what your work availability (days and hours you are available to work and we would call you into the shift at least two hours prior to the start time). You can work either an 8 hour shift between the hours of 8am – 6pm or a four hour shift from 11am – 3pm. You must work at least 16 hours a month and must work no more than 29 hours in a week. You must have a valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialed in infants and toddlers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the center's philosophies following childcare regulations and national standards.

Create positive learning environments including resources based on child directed learning

Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior.

Build good, open communication with children, families and staff.

Observe and record children's growth, development and behavior using electronic portfolios.

Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe.

Help develop teaching goals for the center and its teachers.'

Undertake administrative tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Early Childhood Teaching qualifications, preferred.

Child Development Associates or CDA is required.

Experience working in a childcare setting.

Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills.

Sound written and verbal communication skills.

Strong computer literacy.

First Aid and CPR Certification (BCC will provide course during new hire orientation)

A good understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework.
