implement research studies to provide a deeper understanding of the

physico-structural attributes of nucleic acids that are important for driving

efficient and robust molecular amplification technologies, to help drive

product development efforts, ultimately enabling commercialization of

SupportR&D and product development efforts by providing expertise in nucleicacid chemistry,

Developand implement analytical and biophysical methodologies to help analyze,characterize and evaluate target nucleic acids for amplification

Investigatemethods to characterize and modify target nucleic acids.Conformational analysis of secondarystructure including sequence specific conformations

Investigatemethods to characterize nucleic acid/protein interactions

Manageprojects by coordinating and prioritizing work streams, timelines anddeliverables while driving project execution to meet corporateexpectations

Resolvetechnical issues with analytical methods and instrumentation

Workboth independently and as part of a cross-functional team to analyze,interpret, report, provide conclusions and present experimental datainternally

Providehigh level analysis of experimental results

Workas part of a multi-disciplinary team with other scientists, chemists,engineers and manufacturing personnel

Qualifications

Ph.D.in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a closely related field

Minimumeight years of experience working in the IVD field in an industrialsetting, or in a clinical, central or core laboratory performinganalytical characterization of nucleic acids.

Experienceanalyzing structures of nucleic acids and modifications necessary to alterstructures

Experienceanalyzing and manipulating nucleic acid/protein interactions

Proven trackrecord of strong technical skills and hands-on experience with a diversearray of molecular and analytical testing methods

Demonstratedexpertise in nucleic acid manipulation, enzymology, and biochemistry as itrelates to nucleic acid synthesis and characterization

Ability toindependently develop, optimize and validate analytical methods

Experiencedeveloping analytical methods for the characterization of nucleic acids

Demonstratedability to lead complex projects with minimal supervision

Inventive,with ability to implement ideas in the laboratory

Demonstratedability to analyze, interpret, and present data are essential

Demonstratedability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve desiredresults from general objectives

Demonstratedability to communicate effectively

Preferred Qualifications

Experienceand expertise in extracting, synthesizing, purifying, modifying,characterizing and evaluating nucleic acids, both DNA and RNA

Hands-onexperience with multiple analytical instruments and methodologies,including mass spectrometry, HPLC, spectroscopy (UV-Vis), capillaryelectrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, OES-ICP, DSC, TGA as well as with a variety ofwet chemistry methodologies is a plus
