Seeking UAV LiDAR Embedded Systems Developer for
Phoenix LiDAR Systems (PLS) is looking for a UAV generalist, autopilot specialist who spends their weekends building, crashing and rebuilding drones, automating their pet feeder and making spreadsheets to track the soil moisture of their herb garden. Nobody who works at Phoenix LiDAR has the luxury of sticking to their job description, our ideal candidate has a broad knowledge of all aspects of autonomous vehicles, and could help with any stage of development. That said, this position is focused on LiDAR system integration into autonomous vehicles.

You will:
Work with every aspect of LiDAR hardware, firmware, software, peripherals and sensors (cameras/RGB/Thermal/Multi/Hyperspec)
Write your own code and modify the existing LiDAR firmware bases
Analyse data logs to characterize hardware performance or identify software bugs
Tune Settings
Troubleshoot hardware issues and software bugs
Breadboard concepts with Arduino
Plan and conduct bench tests and flight tests, analyse data and write reports
Talk in your sleep about Git merging
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, software engineering or similar
Proficiency in C. Python is an asset - Linux proficiency
Experience with Pixhawk on Ardupilot or PX4.
Experience with GitHub or bitbucket
Working knowledge of electronics - Soldering proficiency a major plus
Solid understanding of flight dynamics and controls
Good UAV piloting skills is a plus
Candidates with practical UAV/drone experience
