Where does a person turn when they've received a promotion out of the country and has 10 years of furniture that won't fit on a plane?

What does the gal who just helped her aunt into assisted living do with all the remaining antiques and dated furniture? Why they call us, we specialize in 'Estates', buying quality used goods and furniture from the public to sell at our shop. Anglin Second Hand has been a quiet background force of our community for 40 years, working for Individuals and Families in times of need and in joy. We buy household lots from the attic to the garage. Anglin Second Hand Buys, Sells, and Trades everyday household goods, furniture, guns, tools, hardware antiques and just about anything else you can think of, eventually everything passes through.

About the Job-

Are you the self-motivated type that's not afraid to get a little dirty? A friendly type that enjoys making new friends and helping customers with genuine gusto? Can you start a project, get interrupted 3x and come back an hour later picking up where you left off? If so, perhaps Anglins' has an opportunity for you. We are looking for someone strong to join our small but merry band.

As part of the floor staff you will be expected to cover these basic requirements

- Able to Man the counter; Phones, take money, help customers and stay productive.

- Move a bunch of furniture on a daily basis. Some days it's loading and unloading a truck at and from location, while other days we're rearranging the floor to fit new furniture in, playing real world tetris but with furniture. Most days there will be customer "Load Outs" and small truckloads of new Stuff.

- Stay Productive, there will always be more to do than we can tackle in one day, it's part of the fun challenge the job provides. So we want to welcome someone who can choose the best suited tasks that get the most done or are most important eventually without direction.

- Everybody helps clean and everybody helps customers, Owners included

- Did I mention, Customers, Customers, Customers. We pride ourselves on being "Aggressively Friendly" and our Customers are the most important part of the job. From the Folk that we work with at their homes and business all over Humboldt county to our many regulars and all the many new passers by.

Requirements

-There's a lot to learn in a place like this and so we would love to hire someone on full time so that they can really soak up the place but are willing to be negotiable depending on need. Weekly calendar is pretty stable once set with 30-40 hour work weeks.

-There's something new to learn each day and we'd like our new team member to have fair learning skills and a capacity to learn a whole new creative skillset of abilities. A high school diploma or equivalent will suffice.

-No stuffy dress code other than basic respectful clothing in good repair and general cleanliness.

-Must have reliable transportation, fine if it's just your feet but you've got to be at work if scheduled.
