Overview:

Melni LLC is a startup company that designs and manufactures components integrating the Patented Melni Spiral Technology into their product design. These components are being approved through many industries including: electrical distribution, solar power, hydraulic and automotive. We strive to build connectors that reduce the amount of tools needed and enhance the ergonomics for the end user during installation.

We are looking for a P.E. Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with a creative and innovative mindset. The Engineer will work with our small team to define product specifications, develop conceptual and final design solutions, manage and coordinate project activities, support existing product offerings, and perform testing/analysis of new and existing products. The Patented Melni Spiral Technology is very innovative and, as such, the applicant must have the ability to design and adapt to new ideas, designs and technology.

General Duties:

1. Develop New Product Development Scope/Timeline involving Stage/Gate format.

2. Lead in preparation of product definitions and specifications.

3. Participate in mechanical product design including product specifications, material selection, CAD design, and detailed product drawings.

4. Design, implement and test new products to achieve desired features and specifications.

5. Document designs for product support and efficient development of successive product generations.

6. Interface with other company departments to ensure effective communications of new product development and continuing engineering activities.

Experience and Education Required/Desired:

1. B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), P.E. preferred.

2. Minimum 3 years of experience with incremental technical and project leadership responsibilities.

Skills Required:

1. Technical skill and knowledge of mechanical engineering, including mechanism and thermal engineering.

2. Extensive design knowledge with injection molded plastic parts, as well as additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques.

3. Strong Solidworks 3D design background / proficiency.

4. Test and analysis experience including design of test plans, instrumentation usage and failure analysis.

5. Project management experience including developing project plans and time lines, tracking project progress and expediting external action items. Familiarity with stage gate and/or APQP is a plus

6. Excellent communications skills – must interface successfully with other engineers, non-technical personnel and with customers to define and later deploy products.

7. Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems.

8. Ability to rapidly learn new concepts.
