Accountant for CPA office

Job Description

We have an immediate opening for an Accountant for our office in Columbia, MD. We're looking for someone who has top-notch experience and knowledge in QuickBooks (including A/P/AR and general ledger), Financial statement review & payroll returns.

Responsibilities include:

Review of financial statements in QuickBooks for 200 clients on a monthly basis to ensure their income and expenses are properly categorized. Sending the financial statements to the clients along with observations and notes.

Balance sheets accounts reconciled by making adjustments to entries as needed.

For most clients, their data is already entered directly by the client, or by our in-house accountants in our firm. Our company then has an in-house system where all the documents are reviewed and prepped. There are two parts to this area of responsibility. First, you may need to record bank and credit card information into QuickBooks. Second is to review the client's list of missing monthly documents and follow up with the client as needed to receive them.

Need to have an understanding of payroll returns, such as 940, 941 and W-2.

Experience and knowledge of compliance with 1099's. You will be assisting in issuing them to vendors for each client at the beginning of the year.

Our company is looking for someone to work P/T or F/T hours, and can also work from home with flexible hours. Even though we are located in Maryland, we are flexible with a candidate being outside of MD. We have a competitive salary, benefits, health insurance, bonuses, PTO, and paid holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $39,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
