Job Description

The Sr. Technician - Engine Operations positionwill require significant time spent in engine test cells. Projects include performance and emissions development, calibration, and/or validation and compliance testing as well as independent execution of test pans as provided by the engineering team, installation of engines in the test cell, and maintaining lab equipment.

  • Communicates technical problems to other technicians, engineers, and managers.
  • Installing engines and subsystems into test cells.
  • Conducting regular maintenance on test cell instruments.
  • Operating test cells over specified test cycles.
  • Diagnosing/repairing engines and components.
  • Diagnosing/repairing test cell systems and instruments.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED

AND

  • Minimum 5 years of experience on automotive service/repair OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in technical field
  • Experience in laboratory testing and/or field testing for performance and/or emission

Equipment

  • This job operates in an engine testing laboratory. The environment has typical air temperature control (60 to 80 deg F), but there are often hot components (engine exhaust pipes and other components) present that must be respected, as well as rotating equipment (engine, driveshaft, dynamometer).
