Job Title:Epi Research Coordinator 1 - Infectious Disease - Full-timeDepartment:Infectious Dis AdminShift:1stFull/Part:Active Regular FT (72 to 80 hours per pay period)Specialty:ResearchJob Number:2022-3666Job Description:Job Summary :Rush researchers, funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Chicago Prevention and Intervention Epicenter (CPIE) are recruiting an EPI Research Coordinator 1 with a passion for understanding and mitigating healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic resistance. The successful candidate will coordinate one or more projects aimed at delineating infection epidemiology and developing innovative, effective interventions to prevent infection, with the overarching goal of improving human health. The EPI Research Coordinator performs a variety of duties including the collection, compilation and documentation of research data. The EPI Research Coordinator 1 partners with other members of the research team at Rush; at local, state, or federal public health agencies; and with other healthcare and academic partners to ensure the research is conducted with the highest integrity and scientific rigor, and in accordance with all relevant regulations. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Job Responsibilities:May recruit, screen and schedule potential study participants.

May write and create surveys utilizing standard research protocol.

May assist in grant proposal writing.

May identify community partners in the Chicagoland area.

May assist in communications with researchers and members of the research community.

Recruit and schedule participants for research study, including explaining the goals of the study, obtaining informed consent, and arranging for the evaluation of study participants.

May conduct focus group.

Follow up by phone, email, and mail with study participants.

Participate in the preparation and delivery of presentations to disseminate study findings.

Analyze data and drafts data reports, manuscripts and presentations.

Utilizes approved informed consent and HIPAA procedures.

Administers involved, systematic tests and questionnaires including the assessment of participant eligibility, level of function, and/or response to intervention(s) according to research study protocols.

Helps maintain study procedure documentation.

Prepares study related materials.

May assist with data entry, cleaning and guided analysis.

Monitors study participants as required by study protocol.

Maintains supply inventory.

May utilize study-related devices and equipment as part of assessment procedures.

Maintains study records and edits for completeness and accuracy.

Attends regular team meetings.

Troubleshoots field issues when necessary.

Uses discretion to resolve issues when unplanned events arise.

Required Job Qualifications:Some college with prior data collection experience.

Entry level proficiency in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and databases.

Detail oriented with high attention to accuracy.

Strong written and verbal communications.

Ability to develop rapport with a diverse pool of research participants.

Ability to navigate sensitive topics and maintain confidentiality of participants.

Ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary team settings.

May require 6-8 weeks training depending on study protocols.

Availability to work evenings, overnight and weekends if called for under the study protocols.

May require personal transportation to field location.

Preferred Job Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree. If degreed, no prior experience required.

Prior work with research study protocols.

Fluent in spoken English and an Asian language (Korea, Hindu, Urdu, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Tagalog, etc.).

Must be able to read and write in English and corresponding Asian language script to match spoken language.
