Senior Network Engineer

We are a leading Information Technology service provider focused on bringing enterprise class IT services to small and medium sized businesses throughout the Central Coast.

We are seeking a full-time Field Services Engineer for our clients on the Central Coast, primarily in Santa Barbara County. Your primary focus will be managing all aspects of IT for a set group of clients; you will be their IT department. Primary duties include onsite support, remote support, help desk, and working with remote monitoring and management tools. You will provide most levels of IT support including desktop/laptop support, server support, networking support as well as helping the client with need analysis, project planning, and purchasing. Secondary duties will include project based work with your assigned client and others, building new servers, server migrations, disaster recovery, and working on virtualization projects.

Because you will be in front of our customers, your personality is as important as your technical knowledge and skills. You must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to all levels of an organization from receptionist to CEO. Being a super-geek is great, -we want those skills, but you must come with the ability to relate to real world people as well as network assets.

You must meet most of the following qualifications to be considered:

Expert with SonicWALL and Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls (minimum 5 years experience)

Windows Server (2003 to Current) Administration (minimum 3 years' experience)

Microsoft Exchange (2003 to Current) Administration (minimum 3 years' experience)

Windows Network Administration (minimum 3 years' experience)

Windows (7 to Current) (minimum 3 years' experience)

VMware Virtualization, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix experience or a desire to learn virtualization

Experience with setup and maintenance of various computer and peripheral hardware

Technologies:

Active Directory, DHCP, DNS/DDNS, WINS, POP, SMTP, PPTP, L2TP, TCP/IP, VLAN, SNMP, RPC/HTTP, firewall configuration, NAS, SAN

Skills:

Impeccable communications & organizational skills

Friendly (Great sense of humor a plus)

Maintain a high degree of professional conduct at all times

Ability to manage your time wisely

Problem solving ability within a quick paced environment

Ability to consistently follow through on all assigned tasks

Ability to prioritize intelligently

Ability to understand a client specific business needs

Desirable Extras (pluses):

Industry Certifications: VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Cisco, SonicWALL, etc.

Experience working with various disaster recovery solutions

Implementation and administration experience with cloud computing solutions such as Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps, Amazon Web Services and Rackspace hosting services
