Description

The Scheduler is accountable for understanding the demand for his/her allocated site and the available capacity. He/she understands the capacity, and its constraints. He/she is capable to provide a comprehensive and well thought out short to mid term plan for his/her sites (incl. definition of mitigation/gap closures when needed; incl. keeping it continuously up-to-date), to achieve required customer service at best cost (detailed production plan or replenishment / tolling plan). He/she can provide solutions with options for decision making. He/she manages and consistently achieves inventory plans. He/she is able to take initiative and collaborate effectively and efficiently with the Master Planner, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Transportation Logistics, Procurement in order to create a plan fulfilling the demand with optimal use of the capacity. He/she measures KPI and reports performance to plan.

SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning)

  • Work cross functionally to achieve supply requirements, resolve issues and optimize product flow and inventory, in close cooperation with all involved within the site
  • Provide weekly or bi-weekly input to the Master Planner’s Supply Calls to report out on KPIs, highlight areas of risks or concerns, propose options to mitigate risks, escalate past due actions that are having negative impact to the business

Supply &Capacity Planning (or Replenishment / Tolling Planning)

  • Develop an effective detailed capacity plan (or replenishment / tolling plan) based on the master production plan and on analysis of all key supply and demand factors including forecasted site demand, plant capacity, manufacturing costs, inventory targets
  • Ensure Planning Parameters are properly setup and look for continuous improvements

  • Work with MRP raw material planning, procurement, and suppliers to provide raw material requirements and forecasting information based on intermediate and finished goods production needs

  • Work with SAP/APO and other tools such as MS Excel to support creation and distribution of master scheduling and production to plan metrics/KPIs

Inventory Management & Control

  • Achieve inventory targets to balance customer service, cost, and working capital in an optimal way as given by the Master Planner, monitor achievement of inventory targets and initiating of actions as required

Other responsibilities:

  • Driving continuous improvement (including fulfilment of requirements of the ISO 9001 system)
  • Supporting further projects and site activities as required

Qualifications

Education and experience in

  • Bachelor/Science Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations Management (or similar, eg commercial apprenticeship) required and a minimum of 3 - 5 years equivalent experience

  • Effective planning skills, complemented by strong manufacturing knowledge
  • SAP Experience preferred (eg Power User in APO); proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Analytical skills
