Our DSPs carry out rewarding work, playing an integral and crucial role in the success of our organization by assisting with activities of daily living, and facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community or providing transportation to work and/or other activities. We support our individuals by partnering with our clinical staff to implement the therapeutic and behavioral plans that are in place. The ideal candidate will assist individuals in developing key life skills by providing supports based upon their person-centered plan in our vocational program, residential homes, individual homes in Kent County based on your availability.

Experience is preferred, but not required, that is, if you Bring the Right Attitude, We'll Train you for Success! We provide PAID classroom training to include: DDA, CMT, CPR/First Aide Certification, and Crisis prevention; and on the job training and tools you need to be successful in this position.

To pass this trainingapplicants must:

- Complete (3) weeks of consecutive day orientation/on-the-job training within the first month of employment;

- successfully pass associated tests, and demonstrate skill in working with adults with developmental disabilities post hire;

- be capable of performing CPR/First Aid and follow MANDT standards for crisis intervention;

- have the ability to receive instruction and implement policies/procedures as trained;

- have the ability to work independently and manage time effectively;

- be detailed oriented with ability to accurately complete all required daily documentation and reporting;

- be organized and easily adaptable to changing duties and work settings

commit to having a high level of reliability by being punctual and committed to a shift schedule;

- maintain a professional presence in image and interactions to include a clean, appropriate and presentable appearance;

- treat our individuals supported with respect and dignity while provide enriching opportunities and choices;

- have the ability to think critically, have basic problem-solving skills, and good judgement;

Shift/Schedules offered:

Full time and part time available.

2nd and 3rd shifts throughout the Chestertown and surrounding areas.

Hours of work and some shifts may vary based on the needs of the individuals supported.

Some weekends required.

Base Rate: $11.25/hr.

Minimum Qualifications:

Be at least 18 years of age.

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Legally eligible for employment in the United States.

Ability to successfully complete all agency required training.

Must pass a MTTP pre-requisite math and reading comprehension exam with a passing score of at least 70%.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills,includingproficiencyin spoken and written English.

Valid unrestricted driver's license to include a clean driving record from the MVA with no more than 2 points.

Ability to drive in inclement weather, at night, on highways, over bridges, and in traffic.

Pass a criminal history record check, drug screen, and submit to a driving record, in accordance withLocal, State, and Federal law/regulations.
