Summary: This position assumes responsibility for strategic planning, direction and overall accountability for department(s) comprised of multiple functional areas; independently makes decisions that could affect the overall division and/or company’s financial objectives, performance objectives and strategic results; and develops and assumes accountability for budget for department or multiple functional areas. Communicates and interprets organizational and departmental goals and objectives to all areas of responsibility. Major Duties:

Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospital’s strategic goals.

Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives.

Ensures quality of care & patient satisfaction through oversight of policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives.

Manages, develops, retains and inspires an engaged workforce.

Ensures operational profitability through effective budgeting and resource management.

Manages large scale projects across multiple departments / facilities to improve efficiancies and reduced cost.

Develops and executes long-term strategic business plans that support business growth.

Contributes to the management of physical & technological infrastructure and supports organizational structures.

Physician Development & Relations.

Community Outreach on assigned business inititives.

Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Preferred: ? Understanding of the delivery of care in an Acute Care environment.   Required: Must have computer skills and dexterity required for retrieval and analysis of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work longer than 8 hours per day, moving about in excess of 70% of the day in order to carry out duties in a fast paced environment. Ability to manage large scale projects with emphasis on appropriate change management. Excellent leadership skills including the ability to inspire others as well as manage challenging situations. Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.

5 years related health care experience managing hospitals and patient care delivery

Education/ Experience: Preferred: 10 years related health care experience managing complex hospitals and patient care delivery including three years of supervision or management experience Required: Required - Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing (or other clinical field) or Business Administration Preferred - Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.
