Global Medical Director - Alzheimer's Disease

Job Description

Biogen’s strategy is to discover, develop and deliver innovative therapies that improve the lives of patients with devastating neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease.

The Medical Director will serve as one of the main points in the Biogen Global Medical organization to provide strategic input/guidance into the development and execution of the medical strategy for Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

The Medical Director will define the stakeholder engagement strategy and align on the priorities and execution of key activities. He/She will provide scientific expertise in AD and will work in close collaboration with internal cross-functional stakeholder (e.g. Commercial, Clinical, Compliance, etc.) with a focus on the US affiliate. The Medical Director will also work in collaboration with external stakeholders (e.g, Key Medical Experts, professional societies).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Leadingthe development and execution of external stakeholder engagement planBuilding and maintaining external relationships among AD key medical experts and professional societies to support successful execution of key tacticsCollaboratingwith key stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver against the stakeholder engagement planLeading efforts to identify how care of AD patients may evolve with therapies that may delay the disease progressionProvidingscientific leadership to cross-functional efforts related to stakeholder engagement including Commercial and Market Access

Qualifications

MD, PhD, PharmD with minimum of 8 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical AffairsAlzheimer’s disease experience is preferredAbility to adapt to change while maintaining strategic focusStrong Matrix collaboration and leadership skills are required, as well executional ability to organize, manage and motivate are key competencies for this roleAbility to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to both internal and external customersStrong interpersonal skills and project management skillsExcellent written and oral communication skills
