6 Month Contract to Hire | S & HOLDERS ONLYWork DescriptionDedicated, site-level technical electronic health implementation expert to work independently with other information services applying specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to ensure the Cerner and EHRM IO goals to Cerner implementation is optimize for the delivery of technical support of the EHRM IO Strategic plan. Ensuring this level of optimization requires close work with OIT, BioMed, FMS and other technical pillars, clinical and support services, project managers and other information service professional to enumerate requirements from the various groups of stakeholders. Use knowledge of technical dependencies to autonomously advise and participate the implementation of electronic medical record technologies.Basic qualifications:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience is required. An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Must create strategies and plans for integration of multiple IT systems/subsystems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained
  • Must be able to coordinate with development and user teams to assess risks, goals and needs and ensure that all are adequately addressed
  • Must be experienced in introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks
  • Must be cost conscience as well addressing goals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent
Additional qualifications:
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Understanding of EHR Implementation and how it relates to all technical aspects through the project Life Cycle
  • EHR deployment experience highly preferred. Understanding of Network security
  • Promote organizational improvement efforts through the development of systems or client enhancements to standard health implementation and/or product development processes, policies, and procedures
  • Able to implement strong program management practices (change requests, issue management, risk/issue mitigation and management and decision tracking) and contributes to standard client implementation methodologies and management best practices
  • Demonstrated experience proactively identifying new problems and preparing solution courses of action by engaging cross-functional (technical, clinical, programmatic) stakeholders
  • Maintains a high-level of confidence and is able to communicate ideas and influence collaborative decisions
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, empower support staff, and require minimal direction in achieving goals
  • Microsoft Visio and Project, Health IT experience
