Environmental Services (Burlington)

University of Vermont Medical Center, Vermont’s academic medical center and founding member of the University of Vermont Health Network, seeks Environmental Services workers.

Environmental Services is responsible for the cleaning of all areas of the facility with the exception of the OR.

We are hiring for housekeeping and lead positions.

Environmental Services Worker:

The Environmental Services Worker II is responsible for the cleaning of all areas of the facility with the exception of the OR. The ESW II knows how to handle cleaning issues or knows the appropriate resources available to solve the specific problem.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Satisfactory completion of Environmental Services Orientation Training Program within three months after hire. Meets the physical demands of the job as evaluated by functional screening.

Experience:

Prior health care or hospitality industry cleaning experience is highly desirable.

The Worker position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Starting salary is $15 an hour.

Environmental Services Lead:

The Environmental Services Lead is responsible for the physical appearance of the environment, direct and indirect communication with departments of assigned areas. This position is responsible for overseeing cleaning duties of patient care areas, work and general public areas as assigned. They oversee and support staff in the absence of a Supervisor. The EVS Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to, patient interviews, quality assurance, compliance of bed turnaround times, covers assignments when staffing requires, assisting new hires in their assignments when needed, and on the job re-training of EVS staff when identified.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of Level III Program within one year of entry into the Lead role.

Experience:

Prior health care or hospitality industry cleaning experience is highly desirable.

The Lead position is eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Starting salary is $15.31 an hour.
