Desktop Support Technician

A client north of Nashville, TN is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a permanent position to provide support via phone, and in limited cases, in-person support.Hybrid Work Schedule: Following the training period, the Technician will work a hybrid schedule, working roughly 50% remote, and 50% on-site. The shift available is Wednesday – Saturday – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.Responsibilities:• Configure and deploy the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements• Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and diskdrives on workstations• Load appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components andoffice applications• Assist in the customization and adaption of existing programs• Provide telephone and desktop and online support to end-users• Provide routine support for servers, network and LIMS systems• Document resolution, status and information for all issues and requests• Escalate major problems to Tier 3 support• Assist IT Administrators and Managers as needed• Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis,and implementation controls• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skillsPreferred skills:• Minimum of two years of experience providing desktop support• CompTIA A+ Hardware and/or Microsoft MCP Certification• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Active Directory, networkingand TCP/IP• Knowledge of Information Systems Security principlesEducation:• High School Diploma or GED is requiredOther Requirements:- Background Check- Drug ScreenAlltech, Inc. is a leading provider of IT staffing services in Nashville and the surrounding areas.
