Description: This position manages the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Common Software team. The ADP common software team leads the development of Air Space Integration Software and other emerging Open Mission Systems software technologies in support of the ADP Mission Systems Roadmaps. The team will develop software capabilities in support of technology roadmaps and support the transition of those capabilities into various production contracts across LM Aero platforms. The team is composed of highly aggressive agile teams that lead innovation of processes and tools while directly transitioning software technologies to other programs. As such, the selected candidate must be highly flexible and up to an aggressive pace.Responsibilities include: Work force management (re-assignments and placements, recruitment and selection of new employees and terminations) and personnel management (training, mentoring, career development, performance and compensation, and promotions). Management responsibility will include significant collaboration with ADP Programs, Aeronautics Programs, other Business Units, and Industry. The successful candidate will be expected to support communications with all levels of employees, customers, and industry from engineer up to executive. Strong skills in conflict resolution, proactive communication, building collaborative relationships and other “soft skills” are desired. Support pursuit and management of internal and customer sponsored technology roadmaps. Interface with LM Aero, other LM business units and external customers and suppliers to develop new technologies and transition them to LM Aero programs. Support technical execution and leadership of ADP Roadmaps Portfolio IRAD and CRAD projects, including existing efforts aimed at advancing the mission capabilities of our manned and unmanned systems.The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with previous skills and experience managing similar groups of multi-function multi-site engineers. The candidate must have a good understanding of agile software and will understand cost and schedule drivers for program execution while driving innovative and creative solutions. Previous program management experience executing highly dynamic projects within short timelines while meeting/exceeding earned value objectives is desired. Travel is required with on average 1-2 trips per month. This position is located in but will work closely with ADP personnel at all sites and business units. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Must be a US Citizen.
