There are 1150 team members in WFMS located across the United States.This exciting newly created executive role will be instrumental in Wells Fargo’s Merchant Services (WFMS) continued transformation and our commitment to help customers succeed nancially by delivering on our vision and brand promise.This highly visible position reports to the Head 0f Strategy & Customer Experience and collaborates extensively with the leaders of the WFMS business leadership team and other bank partners, including our joint venture partner, Fiserv.The Strategy Leader will be responsible for strategy work that will define WFMS Target Operating Model (TOM) to achieve transformational advancements that drive growth, increase effectiveness and improve the customer experience. The individual will work with the WFMS leadership team to define the scope of the key changes and transformational shifts required of the organization to achieve the TOM. He/She will oversee the research of trends, customers, competitors in order to create frameworks to prioritize opportunities and connect strategy.The CandidateThe candidate will have a track record of successfully developing and driving strategic initiatives and long-term strategic vision, delivering findings and recommendations to varying levels of leadership. The role demands strong consulting, strategic planning, business case development and relationship management skills. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed environment with diverse teams. The role requires a passion for developing new strategies and enhancing proposed initiatives, follow through on developed strategies into implementation, a unique ability to balance important long-term strategic and short-term urgent priorities, and a personal desire and accountability for positive client and shareholder change.A successful candidate will possess:Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

Ability to translate business strategic objectives into critical transformation levers in support of long-term business planning

Solid business acumen including competency in identifying, comprehending and synthesizing industry data, creating hypothesis of market trends and assessing implications; exceptional quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem solving capabilities

Ability to challenge the status quo via optimized solutions to drive better business performance through alternative solutions

Drive qualitative and quantitative analysis

Formulate hypotheses and identify actionable insights that challenge the status quo

Versed in a range of problem solving approaches and capable of optimizing techniques to yield best results

Leverage competitive research and best practices to develop a comprehensive strategy and competitive solutions

Communication

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop messaging and present to senior stakeholders including executive committee members as required

Effectively communicate complex concepts to senior leadership while clearly identify critical actions and decision points to support strategic objectives

Team engagement & stakeholder management

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders

Strong influence skills to help the teams prioritize and converge on key opportunities & actions in support of a strategic roadmap

Manage large-scale, cross-functional teams with matrixed partners for priority transformation programs

Program management

Identify, structure and execute own large-scale programs aligned to program and roadmap measureable objectives

Anticipate issues and put in place mitigation strategies; see dependencies across program workstreams

Bias for action

Track record for driving parts of large scale transformations

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of leadership experience

10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
