We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver both unit and command level presentation/briefs on prevention topics to include child abuse, domestic abuse, and stress or anger management. Facilitate evidence based educational classes and workshops, i.e., Coping with Work & Family Stress, Century Anger Management, Married & Loving It, or Triple P Parenting, with the purpose of improving life skills and reducing the impact of challenges associated with a mobile military lifestyle. Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate programs to support military members and their families. Programs are to be updated according to the changing needs of the community and/or command requirements. Develop and implement a comprehensive education program for military families in the dynamics of domestic abuse and child abuse. Provide information on the availability of treatment services and the Marine Corps policies regarding family violence. Develop and provide education for professionals and paraprofessionals who work with children, i.e., Child Development Centers, Family Child Care providers, Youth Activity Centers, Schools and Law Enforcement to ensure awareness of the causes and effects of child abuse and the identification and reporting responsibilities.Programs are to be offered as single or multi-session classes and delivered at the request of commands, family support groups, and civilian counterparts.Establish and maintain command and military community relationships. Enhance coordinated efforts of outreach, organization and program development within the military and civilian communities. Collaborate with other military agencies to support and ensure command training requirements are achieved. Provide outreach programs to promote community awareness campaigns focusing on child abuse, domestic violence, and combat operational stress. Responsible for creation and distribution of marketing materials needed to support the programs and services provided. Provide statistical data to the Family Advocacy Program Manager.Performs other duties assigned.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentSee Duties and QualificationsEVALUATIONS:QualificationsShall possess a Bachelors Degree in social work, education, psychology or social science AND two years of experience in the field of child abuse and neglect, family violence and domestic abuse. Must have demonstrated experience in outreach, community organization and development within the last five years. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of the Marine Corps Family Advocacy Program required.
