The person selected may telework up to the maximum extent possible, up to and including full time, until it is safe to relocate.ResponsibilitiesServes as an Aeronautical Information Specialist located in the Mission Support Services, Aeronautical Information Services Directorate, Aeronautical Information Group, US Notice to Airman (NOTAM) Governance Team. Performs multiple, varying and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leaders, or more experienced technical specialist.Performs assignments that involve providing authoritative technical expertise concerning domestic and international NOTAM policies and governance. Typical assignments include developing policy and guidance or serving as a primary technical specialist on large projects, programs and/or work activities. Acts as assistance to NOTAM Policy Lead to develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques or as a team leader to define and direct challenging projects/programs/activities as it pertains to NOTAM Policy.Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of NOTAM policies and a broad knowledge of the LOB mission and goals to assigned programs and areas of responsibility. The manager provides administrative direction in terms of broadly defined missions or functions. Independently plans, designs, and carries out programs, projects, studies and other work. Work is considered technical authoritative and is normally accepted without change. Completed work may be reviewed for adherence to regulatory guidance and policies for assurance that work requirements have been fulfilled.Leads groups and conducts stakeholder meetings to disseminate information and feedback. Shares responsibility for the performance of programs/projects that frequently affect more than the LOB/SO or the FAA as a whole for ensuring policy is in accordance with domestic and international directives. Oversees the dissemination of information on unanticipated issues, temporary changes to components, and/or hazards in the National Airspace System until such time as associated charts and related publications have been amended. Responsible for quality control/integrity of NOTAM submissions into the system. This includes, but not limited to, runway closures, malfunctions to navigation aids, missile launches, special traffic management programs and changes affecting airport arrival and departure procedures.Leverages knowledge and experience with operational and non-operational FAA aeronautical data flows to operate and maintain mission essential aeronautical information systems consistent with relevant international standards, regulations and service unit business goals. Responsible for supporting all aspects of organizational (AIM) operations, including multiple sites, disaster recovery, near real-team failure continuity of operations and security certifications. Serves a liaison with other business unit, flight services, EJDRS interface/system users and customers to ensure system operation exceed customer expectations. Expected to develop documents, standard operating procedures, instructions, and outreach plans for the organization and coordination activities on related documents with other office and stakeholders.Applies and provides technical expertise to change proposal using comprehensive knowledge of FAA policies to analyze operational impact, feasibility, and handbook compliance.
