Riverside Research has additional research facilities in Boston, MA; New York, NY; Centreville, VA; and Champaign, IL.Job Number: 886 Riverside Research is seeking subject matter expertise in microprocessors and microelectronics technologies for complex space, avionics, and other radiation-prone environments and applications. The position will collaborate with teams of scientists, engineers, and others across the defense and commercial ecosystems.
All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship. Location: Location is flexible, but ideally Bay area, Boston, Austin, Chicago, Florida. Duties:- Support development and implementation of prototype projects that evaluate the defense utility of commercial solutions from the microelectronics and semiconductor industries
- Participate in solving technical and programmatic problems and assessing the technical feasibility of commercial solutions
- Expertly lead project stakeholders through market research and problem curation phases, acquisition activities, and prototype development lifecycles
- Work closely with DoD partners, commercial teams, and others to identify and execution technology transition
- Coordinate and collaborate with senior government officials, executive leadership, and other high-ranking stakeholders
- Review prototype proposals, reports, and related project documents
- Participate in milestone reviews, test and evaluation events, technology demonstrations, and other development and engineering reviews
- Prepare white papers, technical reports, briefs, and meeting materials.
- Respond to official requests for information and other tasks from DoD partners and stakeholders.
- Participate in key intra- and inter-agency meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 10 years of professional technical and programmatic experience in research, development, design, and fabrication, of advanced semiconductor devices
- Advanced degree in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, optics, photonics, or related discipline
- Experience as technical program manager, engineer, or subject matter expert in the development of microprocessors or microelectronics for space, avionics, or other relevant mission applications
- Experience supporting science and technology programs focused on increasing performance and resiliency of microelectronics in radiation-prone environments and conditions
- Experience with management and measurement aspects of semiconductor assembly, quality assurance, and test and evaluation
- Knowledge of prototyping best practices employed by commercial, industry, and government sectors
- Proven record of successfully managing technology development efforts from concept ideation through product delivery
- Understanding of US semiconductor technology manufacturing and supply chain markets with established professional networks across commercial semiconductor or microelectronics industry
- Technical knowledge across a range of technical fields, including cryptography, cybersecurity, communications, sensors, and system integration is highly desired
- Ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI
- Knowledge of microprocessors and microelectronics technologies
- Master's degree in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related technical/scientific field.
- Active Secret clearance with Top Secret/SCI eligibility
