8- 15Description of Primary DutiesBearFit Instructors run the daily activities of the group fitness classes. Provide aerobic instruction to MSU students, staff, and faculty. Utilize safe and correct techniques, while incorporating a variety of teaching methods. Instructors must continuously educate themselves on current practices and trends and be willing meet to discuss. Other responsibilities include:
Greet participants in class and set up equipment for class to begin.
Provide aerobic and exercise instruction for a group of patrons with varied skill levels.
Prepare a warm-up, exercise portion, and cool down segment for each class.
Encourage and communicate with patrons during class.
Keep fitness studios clean and have patrons wipe down equipment after use.
Keep updated on new/innovated fitness information and all exercise safety issues and guidelines.
Work cooperatively with other instructors.
Attend all required meetings.Required QualificationsCPR/First Aid is required; however, this certification can be acquired through Campus Recreation.Required CertificationsMust have be a certified Instructor.
