We are well known as a great place to shop. But we're also a great place to work!Position OverviewGoodwill is seeking an E-Commerce staffer who will focus specifically on the jewelry category. This includes identifying gemstones and general appraisals, sorting, categorizing, cleaning and preparation along with basic watch repair. Members of our E-Commerce team learn and use skills in product testing, photography, photo editing and sales writing and includes specialists in collectibles, art, electronics, fashion and jewelry. It's a fun and exciting team to work with and is based out of our home office on Madison's East side.Primary Responsibilities
Assists in problem solving, continuous improvement and developing strategies to achieve the goals for revenue, sell-through percentage and average sale amount targets
Photographs merchandise to capture necessary details of each item, with an average of 5 quality photographs per item
Researches relevant data on the internet. Incorporates appropriate information into product item descriptions
Composes accurate listings with precise item titles, measurements, sizes, pictures and descriptions for all merchandise. Includes any defects, relevant details or additional expenses customers will incur to avoid returns or customer dissatisfaction
Completes accurate inventory tickets and attaches to posted items. Promptly transfers items to appropriate area to ensure items are in safekeeping until sold
Completes testing on mechanical items (i.e. watches) and makes minor repairs where needed
Uses various equipment as needed to help authenticate or determine value; loupe, gem tester, book scanner, software etc.
Processes items for shipping, as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Intermediate to advanced computer skills a must including experience with Microsoft Office
Two or more years experience working in a jewelry-related position
Knowledge of and ability to accurately identify common gemstones and precious metals
Ability to operate digital camera and familiarity with graphics editing software
A keen fashion sense
Ability to work independently as needed and thrive in a fast paced environment
Excellent written communication skills a must
