Inspection, assessment, verification/testing, and documentation of process and product quality on all goods, incoming goods, in-process used in the manufacture of our product and finished goods to the customer and acceptability thereof. Included in these duties are instrument care, calibration, documentation and auditing functions.

Following standard methods and techniques, inspects and tests product to ensure it meets customer and product specification, and alert the quality and production teams when standards are not met.

Monitors manufacturing processes to assure process capability via SPC, Excel, FTIR bond test equipment and softwares.

Monitors product tracking methods (i.e. UPC, date stamps, etc.). Maintains customer samples.

Puts questionable product on hold, organizes re-work if necessary, and inspects returned product.

Prepares routine MS Word and Excel reports – including gathering and summarizing data.

Inspects and tests incoming supplies and raw materials.

May assist in training of other production employees in quality assurance procedures and standards.

May review overall SPC and data entry to notify of non-conforming trends.

Knowledgeable of proper packaging specifications and acceptable quality for any given product.

Continual monitoring of product quality being manufactured on the production floor.

Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment. Participates in the GMP and HACCP programs.

Conduct internal audits for ISO, cGMP, etc.

Provide internal training to QA, production personnel and office staff.

Requirements:

Min 1 years Quality Assurance experience, preferably in a GMP manufacturing environment, plastics, food, pharma, manufacturing of finished goods for packaging a plus, extrusion a plus.

Experience with measurement equipment: “manual” micrometers, calipers, thickness gauges, weight scales, rulers

Min GED/High School Diploma.

Ability to write correspondence, emails.

Ability to input and retrieve data on a computer, Microsoft excel.

Prior exp. inspecting, assessing, verifying and testing product quality for incoming and in-process goods.

Understanding of physical and attribute properties

Good understanding of equipment, instruments and processes utilized in the production of products

FTIR experience is preferred but not required

Bilingual English-Spanish a plus (not required)

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
