Title: Environmental Services UV TechnicianShift: Full-Time, EveningsJob Overview: UV Environmental Technicians are responsible for the daily operation of the Xenex disinfection device in patient and non-patient areas by following proper operating and safety procedures. This device is used in the advanced cleaning of healthcare facilities.Also assists Environmental Workers when needed in performing 7-step patient room cleaning and trains team members on cleaning procedures as needed.Must effectively communicate with patients, visitors and customers. Must also have a good working knowledge of computer systems to include Microsoft Office programs, Bed Management System or other related computer systems used in the daily functions of the department.Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.Experience: 2 years of environmental services experience required. 3 years of customer service experience in a related field required.Required Skills and Knowledge: Basic reading, writing, and math skills required. Proficient in verbal communication, use of computer to include the use of Word and Excel programs as well as e-mail. Must prioritize service call and dispatch in a timely manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word). Flexibility in task assignments and mobility.License and Certification: CHEST certification within 1 year of hire preferred, but not required.There are many ways to define excellence.
