Title: Environmental Services LeadShift: Nights, Full TimeJob Overview: To lead environmental staff on a day basis on correct policies and procedures of the department and the facility.The Environmental Services Lead may perform the following duties:
All duties and responsibilities of an ESIII/or UV Tech.
Always promotes patient safety.
Is knowledgeable of all ES chemicals and procedures.
Performs routine and project floor maintenance and refinishing.
Can haul trash and operate Autoclave.
Fills in for any open cleaning position as needed.
Supervises department on weekends.
Assigns staff to work areas.
Monitors NaviCare to manage discharge cleaning.
Carries dispatch pager.
Interacts with hospital staff and answers all pages and requests.
Reports weekend duties and concerns to all supervisors, operations manager and director.
Basic Computer Knowledge.
Ability to learn MS Office Outlook for emails.
Ability to take and pass required annual Stat Tests.
Ability to learn NaviCare system to assign EVS staff to areas and manage discharges.
Confidentiality.
Is aware of and follows hospital policy and federal regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Is tested annually on Safety and Confidentiality.
Other tasks as required and assigned by supervisor.
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.Experience: Three years’ experience in the healthcare Environmental Services field preferably in the role of the shift lead or dispatcher.Required Skills and Knowledge: Require knowledge in use of computer in the areas of inputting data in bed tracking system and the use of e-mail. Require knowledge in the systems utilized to maintain floors (stripping, finishing, buffing hard surfaces) and systems utilized to maintain carpets (extracting, spotting). Require basic reading, writing, and math skills. Prefer proficiency in the use of extractors, walk behind scrubbers, burnishers and floor scrubbers.Licenses and Certifications: CHEST certification within 1 year of hire preferred, but not required.There are many ways to define excellence.
