Working directly with clients to bring their dreams to life

Developing proposals for prospective projects

Technical design and quality control on assigned projects

Assisting in the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing facilities

Managing project design teams to maintain design schedule, project budgets, and client expectations

Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines

Maintaining positive client relationships

Traveling for detailed site investigations and client meetings

Designing automatic sprinkler systems and fire alarm systems

Performing calculations and designing special suppression systems

Sharing technical information with teammates

Learning and expanding technical and soft skill sets

Evaluating and recommending fire protection products, systems, and equipment

Coordinating fire protection design criteria and project requirements with code officials

Checking shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications

Responding to code comments and resolving permit issues with code officials

Evolving technical details, specifications, and application guidelines

Resolving construction conflicts and answering questions from contractors

Surveying and observing fire protection system installations on-site and via video

Completing project "punch-list" and assisting in resolving owner and contractor conflicts

Assisting other-discipline teammates to successfully integrate multiple disciplines into assigned projects

We'd love for you to apply for this position if you possess?

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Fire Protection Engineering from an ABET EAC or TAC Accredited Program. A technical degree or certification and strong relevant experience may commensurate for Bachelor?s degree

Be registered as a professional engineer (P.E.) having passed the fire protection engineering written examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES)

Have a minimum 5 years of related Fire Protection experience

Relevant professional experience in, and a passion for, federal, healthcare, sports, and/or mission-critical projects

Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP applications on similar projects is required. Knowledge of HydraCalc or Autosprink RVT preferred

Possess successful verbal and written communication skills

Have knowledge of building and fire codes, including IFC, NFPA, and UFC

Have the ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design
