Your OpportunityThe Schwab organization is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Business System Analyst with solid metadata knowledge who will be responsible for leading required changes and development projects working closely with the Technical Metadata Product Owner and Developers. They will be accountable for documentation of user stories, requirements and testing and will develop in-depth knowledge of Schwab's metadata model, technical metadata repositories, and Schwab's governance policies and standards. The Technical Metadata Business System Analyst will report to the Senior Manager for Data Management Development and Operations within Data and Rep Technology. What you are good at

  • Document user stories, requirements, and testing plans to support implementation of EDC application operating models to align with Data Governance Office requirements
  • Document design and perform testing to support metadata import and export jobs and creation of data governance reporting/KPIs
  • Adhere to SDLC policies and standards for technical management of the technical metadata repository platforms for Schwab
  • Analyze processes, configuration, and setup of technical metadata repository platforms, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Support enterprise entities during data governance onboarding
  • Partner with the Data Governance Office to capture requirements, document processes, and participate in meetings and working sessions
  • Participate with the Data Governance Office and Schwab Technology Services technical leadership to continuously improve data governance technologies and services
  • Maintain a solid understanding of EDC capabilities and the products' roadmap to ensure effective technical design of solutions in the platform
What you have
  • 6+ years of experience as a business system analyst working with data governance including 1+ years of recent experience assistance in development of a data governance program
  • 5+ years of data-centric IT work
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum team environment including 1+ years writing user stories
  • Experience working in a regulatory, risk, and compliance environment and supporting associated projects
  • Experience with data governance tools including technical and business metadata, data lineage, etc.
  • Ability to understand, translate, and communicate abstract concepts/ideas in a clear, concise, and easy to understand communication style
  • Must demonstrate analytical, problem solving, and research skills that allow working with problems that are complex and often unique
Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with Informatica Enterprise Data, Alation, Collibra Data Governance Center
  • Experience in the financial services industry a plus
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
