We have over 65,000 employees and a presence in virtually every country around the world to address some of the most challenging global health issues.Summary/Purpose of Position:Under the general supervision of the Quality Control Work Lead, the Quality Assurance Inspector performs physical and visual inspection on finished goods and incoming raw materials used in the production of products according to official compendium, and BD test methods.Essential Duties and Position Responsibilities:Perform on-line inspection of Packaging Department and perform final physical/visual inspection of all finished products.

Inspect, sample and perform physical/visual tests on package components and raw materials according to BD Standard Operating Procedures.

Maintain supplier quality databases and log books-perform data entry and generate quality metric reports as required.

Schedule priorities; assign inspection activities and coordinate with other departments to prioritize inspections as appropriate.

Ensure calibrations and maintenance are performed on department equipment; determine new equipment requirements and needs.

Assist in the preparation and completion of RGAs and follow-up to completion.

Support and assist in the development of lean thinking programs and participate in the implementation of these programs throughout the facility as required

Maintain a good attendance and on-time record as outlined in the Attendance Guidelines for our facility

The ability to work overtime

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:Minimum education requirement is high school diploma

Minimum of 2 years in the medical device industry and a minimum of 2 years in Quality Control or a Quality type role.

Minimum of 2 years knowledge of inspection/sampling techniques and familiarity with ANSI/ASQZ1.4, ISO-9000 and ISO13485

Minimum of 2 years knowledge of mechanical and physical inspection techniques. (calipers, micrometers, blueprint/artwork reading, etc.)

Duties require basic knowledge of math

Working knowledge of computers particularly with databases and spreadsheets.

Key Relationships:Interfaces with Operations and Engineering to communicate test results and define priorities
