Find your future with us.Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Software Engineer to join us as part of our KC-46 Tanker Mission Systems Avionics (MSA) Software team located in Tukwila, WA .The MSA team supports US Air Force and international KC-46 customers, providing integrated hardware and software solutions that provide tactical situational awareness to the flight crew and on-board network systems. The latter enables net-centric applications and beyond line of sight communication for the warfighter via secure and non-secure ground networks during KC-46 aerial refueling missions.This position will include a variety of software development assignments, such as new capability development, delivered capability upgrades, defect correction, and proof-of-concept prototyping via Internal Research and Development (IR&D) activities.The successful candidate enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction, quality and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-contract/multi-project environment.Position Responsibilities:Design, develop and test software components and functions

Support development of software functional requirements

Support software architecture trades and revise existing architecture to meet new functions

Specify internal and external software interfaces

Conduct software test driven development

Conduct and support peer reviews on all software life cycle data

Support integration, and ground and flight test events

Contribute to the success of an Agile development team

Support sprint planning and meet sprint commitments

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

3+ years experience with Linux and/or Windows development environments.

3+ years experience in C and/or Java.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with embedded (real-time) software development.

Hardware and Software Integration experience.

Typical Education/Experience:typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
