Dynapac Harvesting is seeking a highly motivated and driven individual to join their HR department.
This position will require the handling of various HR/ Safety duties in the office and out in the fields.
Candidates must have a flexible schedule and Saturdays are required. This position is based out of Salinas, CA and works for 4 months (Nov. – Mar.) in Yuma, AZ.
Job Summary and Qualifications
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Recruit and hire new employees for field operations.
- Conduct all new hire orientation documentation and training.
- Registration includes accurately administering I‐9 form, and all new hire documents.
- Distribute and update personnel on new company policies, practices and benefits as need arises.
- Prepare and execute disciplinary and corrective action; as well as terminate employees as needed.
- Maintain personnel records and HR documentation (Hire, disciplinary, transfers, and resignations)
- Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with state/federal policies, regulations related to
OSHA, CAL‐OSHA and DOT.
- Implement safety/training programs that improve employee safety standards.
- Assist with conducting claims investigations and evaluate risk management claims information to identify
significant hazards and loss trends; identify and recommend preventive measures and corrective actions to
management and safety committee.
- Enforce the company’s Injury and Illness prevention Program (implement systems to prevent and identify safety
hazards.
- Attend to injured workers, complete injury reports and transport injured works to medical appointments.
- Create and oversee company‐wide safety culture through safety training, incentives, risk assessments, and
behavior modification programs.
- Conduct and accurately report investigations injury incidents. Responsible for finding resolutions when needed.
- Conduct meetings for Laborers, Foreman, and Supervisors, regarding HR and safety topics.
- Maintain inventory of safety supplies and deliver safety supplies to crews as needed.
- Ensure Food Safety and Production reports are completed by Field Foreman; assist with all food safety audits.
- Assist Payroll, Field Supervisors, and Management with miscellaneous payroll and personnel matters.
- Review daily attendance and identify employees who quit/abandoned their jobs; create exit packets and
communicate to payroll department for processing of final wages.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, Some college is a plus, and related field preferred
- If no degree, applicant must have 2+ years of progressive hands on experience in HR/Safety
- Knowledge of Federal, State, Local policies and regulations related to safety and labor laws
- Must be bilingual/bi‐literate (English/Spanish)
- Must obtain a valid driver’s license as well as a good driving record
- Computer Proficient – Outlook, Word and Excel

- Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline oriented environment
- Good verbal and written communications skills; positive attitude
