Our Engineering teams are responsible for building and supporting multi-stack applications hosted in AWS and On-prem infrastructure. Our engineering managers are responsible for aligning their teams with the demands of product delivery by ensuring that we have the right team structure, properly staffed teams, streamlined and efficient processes, and smooth overall delivery. How you will make an impact:As a leader in our Engineering org, you will: Manage all aspects of software delivery including definition, design, coding, testing, and configuration of IT systems and ensure adherence to technical specifications, architectural design, and requirements. Establish and promote a team culture of respect, trust, commitment, accountability, and innovation across the teams you manage. Partner with business stakeholders to estimate complex projects and determine resource needs based on team workload and project needs. Direct and govern continuous improvement programs to improve quality, reliability, and process maturity. Establish and maintain a resource/staffing approach and plan for the team; identify skills required of the team and find opportunities to upskill team members using Elevance Health's extensive training resources. Hire, train, counsel, and evaluate performance of direct reports and mentor team. members on their individual and team goals as well as guiding their career plans. Work with Engineers and Architects to identify, evaluate and select new tools and technologies to foster innovation and scale value delivery. Minimum Requirements: Requires a BA/BS in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years of experience leading project teams, application software development, maintenance or implementation and support, including a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years of experience managing engineering teams of at least 5+ members. 5+ years of technical experience in any technical function. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with building OKRs, establishing and tracking KPIs. Familiarity with observability platforms such as Elastic, Datadog, NewRelic etc. Understanding of Release management, CI/CD and DevOps processes. Understanding of key Engineering delivery and productivity metrics. Experience working in a regulated healthcare environment is a plus. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training, preferably in Computer Science, or a related discipline.
