OMBRA is a new, upscale small plates concept in The Village at Briarcliff opening in October.

Food menu is globally-inspired and dishes are composed based on seasonal and local ingredients available.

Menus will change approx. every 2 months; flexibility and a willingness to explore new culinary techniques is encouraged.

Kitchen crew will consist of one prep cook, one line cook, one dishwasher, and management (sous chef + chef owner).

All recipes and menu items are made from scratch, with a focus on charcuterie and animal butchery that is all done in-house.

Use of one’s own knives is strongly encouraged, as we believe in using one’s own gear ensures care and intention come through in their work. House knives are available to be sharpened, but they will be the cook’s responsibility to maintain and care for (clean, sanitize, sharpen, oil).

Line Cook will be responsible for:

- assisting the sous chef and chef owner with cooking/assembling dishes for service

- assisting in the closing down tasks for the kitchen (wrapping, storing, logging items, inventory)

- assisting in the cleaning and drying of dishes and work areas

- keeping any personal knives/equipment in working order (sharpening - we will teach!)

Employment Details:

- $15/hour + Tips, 4:00pm - 12:00am (can be cut early) Thursday-Monday (off Tues/Wed)

- tips will be paid out via paycheck weekly (Tuesday Direct Deposit)

- 60-day performance/salary review

Requirements:

- must be able to lift 50+lbs

- must be able to stand for at least 6 hours

- must be able to effectively communicate in English or Spanish (we have a mostly bilingual management staff)

- must be able to commit to a full-time schedule (approx. 35 hours/week)

4:00pm - 12:00am Thursday-Monday (off Tues/Wed)

- must have reliable form of transportation (possibility of being cut early on slow nights)
