Responsible for advanced-level development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of all facets of web-based application systems for a campus unit. May serve as project lead on applications impacting multiple units and provide work direction to Web Developers. This position will interact on a consistent basis with management and staff within assigned units and personnel in the Office of Information Technology. This position will typically advise and counsel: management and staff within assigned units and staff Office of Information Technology.
Local candidates are strongly preferred. Out-of-state candidates can apply. Job Duties:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six to eight years of job-related experience.
- The ability to problem-solve and critically think.
- Five years of High level of knowledge of Python and the Django framework.
- Five years of Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git, SVN, etc.)
- Five years of Database skills in a relational database (i.e. PostgresSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, etc.)
- Three years of Experience deploying Python applications into production
- Three years of Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Three years of Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
- Three years of Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Highly desired of Hands on experience creating a Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline
- Highly desired of Hands on experience deploying pubic web site(s) using public cloud services. (i.e. Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Good understanding of SQL databases.
- Good understanding of REST APIs.
