OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an individual to fill our Associate Draftsman position in our Reno, NV location. Candidate is responsible for the design and layout of AutoCAD based low-voltage electronic systems across multiple technologies. This position will also be responsible for the preparation of project takeoffs, estimates and project proposals in response to both private and public client requests.

POSITIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepare AutoCAD based construction/as build drawings for low-voltage electrical systems.

- Continue to develop and maintain company's AutoCAD drafting program.

- Continue to develop and maintain a compressive archive/library of pertinent AutoCAD based plans and drawing components for the purpose of streamlining drawing preparation.

- Participating in ongoing AutoCAD based educational classes, seminars, courses, etc., for the purpose of staying up with new technologies.

- Maintain and develop company's estimating system database.

- Participation in the bid process: Seek upcoming bids through trade publications, local news papers, customer relationships, etc., obtain bid packages, attend pre-bid meetings, review bid documents, prepare RFI letters, develop material lists to obtain vender project pricing, organize and maintain bid schedules and plan room functions.

- Participate in the preparation of bid packages and customer proposals.

- Prepare project material takeoffs.

- Prepare project material submittals.

- Develop knowledge of electronic systems, in terms of system design, set up, programming, estimating and customer technical assistance, for those systems sold and/or installed by company. Factory training shall be provided on the products we distribute.

- As time allows, assist warehouseman in the prefab of equipment to be installed on jobs in progress or preparing to start

- May be required to pursue and obtain design certificates in related fields.

- Continued education in related field is encouraged.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must have proven experience in at least one or more of the following disciplines:

- Experience in electrical circuits and latest AutoCAD Applications are essential for this position.

- 1 or more years of low voltage or electrical drafting, or equivalent experience, ideally for commercial projects.

- Construction knowledge is preferable.

- Comfortable working with personal computers and proficient with Microsoft Office Applications.

- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

- Must clear a background/credit check, drug test, and have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
