Food Waste Collection/Route Driver

Small, local non-profit company, Reunity Resources, in search of a competent & cheerful person to assist with collection of food waste. You will be involved in the diversion of food waste from restaurants and other commercial businesses to make compost. This is a labor intensive job that requires great driving skills.

Food waste is collected in 64 gallon rolling carts, which can weigh as much as 300 pounds. You must be able to safely roll these carts to a flatbed truck and safely utilize a liftgate. Ability to effectively dump the food waste at our compost facility. Related maintenance tasks include washing carts, repairing carts, preventive maintenance of the F450 truck. No major repair/maintenance required. There is also some time dedicated to using the flatbed truck for other related hauling of materials.

No direct experience necessary. On the job training provided; our Route Manager & or Operations Manager are here to facilitate training.

Work days include Monday (4 hours) and Thursday (8 hours). Possibility for expansion into other areas of the operation and more than 12 hours per week.

Job Requirements:

Ability to lift 50+ pounds & move 64 gallon carts full of food scraps

Ability to safely drive large flatbed truck & operate liftgate

Agility to get in and out of truck numerous times during the day

Able to arrive at work as early as 7:30 and work as late as 3:30-4

Maintain positive attitude; team player

Positive driving record

Bilingual a plus

Familiar with Santa Fe streets and driving experience a plus

Experience with Excel spreadsheets a plus
