Mechanical Civil Engineer in Training

POSITION SUMMARY

Designer of pump stations for conveyance of wastewater, stormwater, potable water, industrial processes, etc. Responsible for many aspects of a project from beginning to end. This includes cost estimating on the front end through quality control and commissioning on the back end. This position will be trained by the engineering department to complete the duties and responsibilities below. Potential candidates are expected to have the basic skills and qualifications to learn to design pump stations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Read civil and mechanical plans;

Generate preliminary designs of pump stations;

Generate full design drawings of pump stations;

Generate mechanical production drawings;

Generate project bill of materials;

Assist with cost estimating;

Perform some quality control and inspection of the project and components;

Minimal travel required;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

It is critical that the applicant:

Has a good mechanical aptitude

Is familiar with hydraulic systems and calculations

Is proficient in 3D CAD applications (Autodesk Inventor)

Is proficient with Microsoft Excel

Associates Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

Other Qualifications:

Is proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
