This position is currently remote, but requires 2 weeks on-site in Baltimore for onboarding. US citizens and Green Card holders only. Description of Work: The Senior VMware Developer will collaborate with technical staff to design, configure, develop and maintain an enterprise-wide cloud solution, and participate in discussions to understand requirements and objectives. They will use the VMware vRealize Suite to deliver IT services through automation and pre-defined policies. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience with tools, technologies, and methodologies to develop solutions capable of meeting business requirements while being in alignment with cloud and security best practices and regulations. Tasks for this position include: Applying advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributing to the development of new principles and concepts. Working on unusually complex technical problems and providing innovative solutions. Developing new solutions using JavaScript, and maintaining/updating existing JavaScript code, in the private cloud platform. Collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements and determine how to automate and integrate into the private cloud platform while adhering to all applicable policies. Working with teams, vendors and consultants to determine strategy for complex system changes, upgrades and implementations. Developing configuration and procedural documentation as necessary. Designing, configuring and providing administration support for the VMware vRealize Cloud Suite of products which includes vRealize Automation, Orchestrator, Operations Manager and Life Cycle Manager. Basic Qualifications: 7 years of experience developing solutions in JavaScript. 5 years of experience writing code to consume REST APIs from commercial software products/services. 3 years performing operations, engineering or development functions in direct support of a broad range of infrastructure services including all of the following: Operating systems, virtualization, network, storage, cloud, and cybersecurity. Must be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green card holder) Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance Preferred Qualifications: Experience with any of the Windows Operating System technologies: Windows Server and Windows Active Directory. VMware Certified Professional or some VMware certification. Expertise using vRealize Operations Manager, Life Cycle Manager or Code Stream. Experience supporting VMware's Site Recovery Manager (SRM). Experience developing code that integrates with VMware NSX. Adept at working independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated experience with delivering technology solutions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven enterprise environment. Excellent understanding of change management, testing requirements, deployment technologies and methods, and tools to ensure high availability of systems. Self-starter, highly motivated individual who adapts to a dynamic work environment. Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities.
