J. Rieger & Co. is seeking talented and enthusiastic Hosts, Bussers and Food Runners to join our Hospitality team! We’re asking for flexible evening availability that includes weekends.
Our support staff averages $18-$20+ per hour between hourly rate and a share of gratuities. This is an average and may vary by time of year and shifts worked.
Purpose of Position:
The team at J. Rieger & Co. is approachable yet energetic. Every day, you will command the basics, to include greeting tables, running food, delivering an impromptu spirits training or saying hello to a guest. You will also have the opportunity to truly make a connection with your guests through various memorable experiences. You will be trained in our food, spirits and cocktails, helping bring these menus to life for our guests. J. Rieger & Co. strives to continue to grow through honesty, integrity, compassion, empathy and hard work.
Responsibilities:
- Greet all guests warmly

- Comprehensive knowledge of the food menus
- Commitment to building knowledge of all things food and beverage
- Help set, maintain and clean the dining room during service
- Support mise en place and preparation across all food and beverage outlets

About J. Rieger & Co:
J. Rieger & Co. was founded in 1887 in Kansas City’s West Bottoms Livestock Exchange district. The brand offered over 100 alcoholic products and took pride in maintaining a quarter of a million unique customers by offering mail-order delivery services. In 1919, Prohibition was enacted by the federal government and wasn’t reversed until 1933. J. Rieger & Co. was a casualty at the time, but was not destined to be lost forever. In 2014, we revived Kansas City’s historic and iconic distillery, opening a visitor experience for the first time in July of 2019 in historic Electric Park.
Our distillery offers daily tours, tastings, four distinct bar spaces serving cocktails, food, beer and wine, as well as space for private events. Our service is professional, imbued with sincere hospitality and defined by our desire to always build relationships.
