Description:The Renal Care R&D - Analytical Chemistry team supports R&D projects for new and existing products. We currently have an opening for an experienced Analytical Chemist who will execute lab experiments in the Renal R&D chemistry lab in Round Lake, Illinois. The successful candidate will effectively participate in a variety of projects by designing experiments, conducting testing, developing/evaluating/validating and transferring analytical methods with an understanding of business impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Contribute to technical feasibility analysis of complex research and design concepts. Evaluate analytical results, identify trends and exceptions, interpret results relative to product requirements, definitions and/or project goals. Engage in analytical problem-solving efforts to meet business needs. Interact with cross-functional project teams. Design and execute method development, validation, and transfer studies including authorship of protocols and reports. Create, update, and maintain equipment and analytical procedures. Conduct studies (routine and non-routine) by performing chemical analysis utilizing LC and GC with various detections and associated wet chemistry and sample preparation techniques. Maintain knowledge of relevant Quality System Regulations and other regulatory requirements related to R&D (product development, design and safety) to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities. This applies to governmental and international industry requirements, procedures, regulations, and standards e.g., related to method validation (USP, ICH). In addition to having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of cGxP and related regulations and guidance, is able to provide expert advice and/or is an active participant in the generation, review, adoption and interpretation of such regulations. Communicate clearly with management, peers, cross-functional teammates, and non-technical audiences by openly sharing project status and hurdles and seeking input from other team members. Enhance operational excellence and laboratory best practices. May support development of analytical plans for new product development and sustaining product projects through:o Collection of information related to product, specification, validations, timelines, release, and stability sites.o Analyze documents and identify gaps/risks in term of analytics vs guideline, internal specifications, etc. to support the analytical plan.

Qualifications: Possesses strong technical knowledge on analytical techniques with previous experience on analytical method development, validation, and transfer per ICH. Possesses good understanding of ICH, USP guidelines and cGxP practices. Possesses strong expertise and hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, UV, Empower, e-Noval and other analytical instruments and software. Learns quickly and solves problems in a timely manner using critical thinking and analytical chemistry skills. Possesses strong writing and computer skills. Proficient at organizing, assessing and communicating complex information that engages the audience. Makes sound decisions when provided with limited information and makes routine decisions independently. Takes ownership and leadership for deliverables and drives to completion. Designs experiments and draws meaningful conclusions from lab data in addition to critically review peers' work. Quality and detail oriented. Provides and accepts critical feedback from others in a constructive manner. Adapts to changes and has an agile mindset. Works in a team environment and demonstrates an inclusive attitude. Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years, Master's degree with at least 3-5 years, or PhD with 0-3 years' experience in relevant discipline
