Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS and Windows) for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Overland Park, KS or Remote. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with experience in AWS and a Windows Server environment. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to automate and streamline processes. The candidate is passionate about staying up to date with technology trends, is self-motivated to learn and grow, and can take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution. This is a great opportunity for someone who has the desire to work with teams that are passionate about innovation and creating amazing client experiences. Responsibilities :

  • Fostering DevOps culture and patterns of continuous improvement, continuous learning, and automation
  • Supporting different software deployment environments, including development, staging, and production
  • Collaborating with software developers and aiding them in streamlining software delivery
  • Collaborating with IT departments to automate and streamline inefficient workflows
  • Decreasing or eliminating technical debt, and improving the reliability and availability of applications and infrastructure
  • Exercising best practices in accordance with the company's long term goals
  • Utilizing Azure DevOps Server for source code management, build pipelines, release pipelines, and overall CI/CD
  • Utilizing AWS services to support web application development and hosting in a Windows Server environment
  • Supporting Microsoft IIS-based web application and IIS servers
  • Launching and maintaining AWS services to support the business
  • Participating in 24x7 on-call rotation and performing other duties as required
Required Skills:
  • Experience with AWS services and features, including but not limited to, CloudFormation, SAM, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS and Fargate, Cloud Map, and auto-scaling
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Server, in particular, managing source control, merging, branching, creating build and release pipelines , CI/CD
  • Experience with microservices, serverless, docker containers, software decoupling, and refactoring
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, and the like
  • Experiencing scripting and data formatting (PowerShell, Python, JSON, and YAML)
  • Experience with REST APIs and API integration
  • Solid foundation of Windows Server and IIS administration
  • Familiarity with .NET development
  • Knowledge of network and server monitoring, telemetry, analytics, and alerting
  • (Nice to have) Experience with AWS EKS, App Mesh, ALB/NLB, CloudFront
  • (Nice to have) AWS Certified Developer Associate or DevOps Engineer Professional
  • (Nice to have) Familiarity with SQL, data warehouses, Tableau, and ETL
Preferred Skills:
